The taking of a twenty inch river smallmouth on a fly is something to be proud of. It’s a feat that some try to accomplish for many years, and others achieve within the first few casts. Few and far between is an understatement. They are anomalies that haunt our dreams and wake us in cold sweats. Compiled here is a collection of these ghosts. Nineteen and-a-half doesn’t cut it. Twenty inches or better. The real deal. Longtime customer Dave Higley spawned this idea on a trip, realizing after countless outings how special of an accomplishment a legit twenty inch fish is. Stipulations are that the fish is caught and released on a Tight Lines guide trip, on a fly and taped by the guide. Along with a permanent place on the Twenty Inch Page, qualifying anglers will be rewarded the coveted Tight Lines 20” hat.
Aj is our first member of the 20" club. Caught at year end. These are the only 20 inch fish that will be entered for the 2010 guide season. The club starts now with fish from 2011.
