The guys at the shop were introduced to dead drift terrestrial fishing for big bass by Jack Allen. Jack fishes with the shop each year with small rods and this style of fly. It hits the water without making a disturbance and its wiggly legs drive fish nuts. The fly sits in the film and will float forever. One of Tim's favorites last season.
